The Voice in My Heart
You spoke to me gently as a lover and a friend,
With my soul I wanted our hearts to blend
And the voice of my heart, I listen to well
But my mind interferes, it wants to tell.
My heart's voice is so gentle, so quiet, so still,
My heart wants your love for life but until....
I know in my heart and my mind ...truth abides,
As sure as the coming in of the tides.
My spirit wants my mind and heart to show,
If our love is real love for each other..... I know.
My heart could have been yours always and forever,
If you had been faithful and left me alone never...
The darkness of night I used to dread,
But I look forward to it now instead.
Left alone in the dark, to think over my pain
you left me there many times.....again and again
I will love you always, this pain I will forget
Love should'nt be difficult, but has since we met
Our love has been broken, you are no longer here
And the dark, all alone, I will no longer fear.
